COVID-19 Update: A modified LA County Health Officer Order, effective Saturday, July 17th, reinstated indoor masking requirements for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. These new requirements are based on rapidly increasing community transmission of COVID-19, with cases up ninefold since the state of California reopened on June 15. On June 15, the day of the full reopening, the County saw 210 cases and in recent days, Public Health has reported as many as 1,902 new daily COVID-19 cases, the highest numbers we have seen since February 2021. SAPC kick-off 2nd Meth Free LA County Media Campaign: The first Meth Free LAC Media campaign was created in February 2020 to help address the meth epidemic in LA County. With the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating current conditions, a second more targeted Meth Prevention Campaign was launched last month to reach those most at risk and their support system/allies of family and friends. On Monday, July 19th, a webinar for providers was held to assist Prevention network to learn about the social media assets from this campaign and how to, step-by-step, integrate them into your own prevention efforts. Parks Parks After Dark (PAD) is back! LA County Parks, Board of Supervisors, Department of Arts and Culture, Probation, Public Social Services Departments, and SAPC are excited to welcome back this popular and FREE community program this summer at 33 County parks. LA County Parks will be hosting Friday night movies, arts and health workshops, and Saturday night concerts.
