The branch is comprised of ten unique programs with diverse responsibilities: Garments Manufacturer, Body Art Inspection, Body Art Practitioner Registration, Jails, Organized Camps, Housing and Institutions, Mobile Food Vending, Vehicle Inspection, Plan Check, Specialized Food Services, Vector Management, and Wholesale Food & Safety Program. These programs provide a wide range of services designed to safeguard the public's health and are staffed by professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors to our County.
Our Popular Services
Ensures that new and remodeled food facilities in Los Angeles County comply with California State laws and local ordinances.
Conducts inspections at wholesale food processing and manufacturing facilities and responds to foodborne illness at food facilities.
Enforces public health laws pertaining to hotels, motels, boarding homes, shelters, boarding schools, and private school cafeterias.
Inspects various types of Mobile Food Facilities including Mobile Food Preparation Units, Hot Dog Carts, and Limited Food Vehicles.
Consists of two units, Vector-borne Disease Surveillance and Vector Control.
